FAQs

HOW IS THE KOMSA TRAINEE PROGRAMME DIFFERENT FROM DIRECT ENTRY?

During the course of our 22-month Trainee Programme you will be given an individual insight into the key departments and core processes of our business and will be able to look more closely into any areas which are of particular interest to you personally. The Trainee Programme will also give you the opportunity to take on initial project responsibilities. In this way you will develop your own network of contacts within the KOMSA Group from the very beginning. The KOMSA Trainee Programme additionally offers you the chance to participate in KOMSA management or project management training.

HOW WILL I BE SUPPORTED DURING THE TRAINEE PROGRAMME?

The Trainee Programme Director is your central point of contact for all organizational, operational and personal concerns, as well as any questions about your training path. In addition, every department allocated a trainee will have a trainees officer, who will be responsible for specialist support including everything from providing information about the department to assigning trainees’ responsibilities to evaluating their performance. Each trainee will be assigned an experienced Manager as their mentor, who will provide advice and support on any personal and professional development issues. Experienced sponsors will also be available to offer assistance and practical guidance to trainees throughout the Trainee Programme.

WHAT TRAINING IS AVAILABLE TO ME DURING THE PROGRAMME?

Our in-house Academy offers a wide range of internal training courses on methodologies, communication, processes and much more. During your time on the Trainee Programme you will also have the chance to take part in our Staff Development Programme, and to seek to pursue a career as a Manager or Project Manager with KOMSA.

HOW WILL I BE REMUNERATED AS A TRAINEE?

We remunerate participants in our Trainee Programme on the basis of their educational qualifications (undergraduate degree/Master’s) and the extent of their previous experience (work placement, internship, work experience abroad). During the Trainee Applicants Day there will be the opportunity for more in-depth discussion on this point.

HOW ARE TRAINEES SELECTED?

Our selection process has several stages. If we are impressed with your online application, the next step is for us to contact you by telephone. This gives us a chance to get a personal impression of you and discuss any outstanding issues relating to your application. The next step is for you to take part in an Applicants Day at our headquarters, where you will have the opportunity to convince us that you would make a good trainee in a series of group and individual exercises and an individual interview.

SHOULD I INDICATE MY PREFERRED TRAINING AREA IN MY APPLICATION?

We are interested in what interests you. We would be happy to have an initial indication of your preferences in your application. You will find more information about possible training areas in our trainees’ brochure.
